Cato Poll Herefords has sold one of its pedigree bulls to Nick & Lucy Holdsworth of Pebworth Herefords, Stratford upon Avon, at the Hereford Autumn Show and Sale.
Cato 1 Miller, who has been an excellent bull in the Cato Poll herd, sold for 4,000 guineas at the sale, which was held on 11th October 2016.
“Miller was a really good bull; he was destined for the breed sales and we are very pleased he has gone to be used in the pedigree herd of Nick and Lucy Holdsworth where I am sure he will do very well for them,” said Jonathan Moorhouse, owner of Cato Poll Herefords and breeder of Hereford cattle for over 20 years.
On the same day, Cato Poll also purchased a stock bull at the sale: Dendor 1 Napoleon, who will be an important investment for the future of the herd at Cheddarmarsh Farm. “At the same time you are always looking for your next bloodlines in pedigree breeding and we had been to mid wales in July to look at Napoleon. Despite trying to buy him direct from the farm, his owners intended for him to go to the breed sales in the autumn, and we were delighted to bring him back with us to join our stock!” said Jonathan.
